Frequently Asked Questions

Hopefully we can answer many of your questions here, but if not, no worries. Feel free to send us an email or give us a call and we will answer anything we can for you.

  • Short answer: YES!

Long answer: Rarely does someone come in that can’t benefit from pelvic floor therapy.

You can also check out this list of diagnoses we treat to see if your symptoms/diagnoses re listed.

  • You will fill out all of your paperwork online ahead of time. Once you arrive at Canvas Suites, come in the front door. Look to your right. Jen is in suite 2. If the door is open, come on in. If the door is closed, please find the QR code to check yourself in. This will let Jen know you have arrived for your visit.

You will be in a private treatment room. You may bring someone with you if you wish. Jen will do a review of your medical history and current symptoms, functional/movement examination, an internal pelvic floor examination (unless contraindicated) performed vaginally or rectally to see how pelvic floor muscles are functioning (pelvic floor muscles are inside your pelvis), have a conversation about your goals for physical therapy, answer any questions you have, and develop a treatment plan that is evidence-based, holistic, and individualized to address your goals.

*NOTE: We understand the sensitive nature of this evaluation and the topics discussed. Jen will discuss your comfort level at your evaluation. YOU are in charge of what happens to YOUR body during YOUR evaluation/treatments.

  • Each person is unique with different histories, different goals, and different symptoms. Therefore, each treatment plan will be different. During your first visit, we will discuss your evaluation findings, goals, and recommendations. Most patients see improvement in a few visits.

*Keep in mind that symptoms that have been present for years frequently take longer to improve.

  • Mid-Missouri Pelvic Health is an out of network clinic. Each session is paid for at the time of service via debit/credit card, HSA (health savings account) card, cash, or check. We will provide you with a “superbill” to self-submit to your insurance for reimbursement. All services provided by Mid-Missouri Pelvic Health are covered under out-of-network physical therapy benefits; however, insurance companies dictate reimbursement, not us.

Click here to find out more about why we chose to be an out-of-network clinic.

  • If you choose to submit for reimbursement from your insurance company, we will provide a Superbill, which will have all the necessary information your insurance company needs. If this is something you are interested in, you are encouraged to contact your insurance company to inquire about the process. Jen will not communicate with your insurance company. DO understand that insurance companies dictate the reimbursement rates, not Mid-Missouri Pelvic Health.

  • No. The way the law is currently written, physical therapists are unable to treat patients with Medicare (or Medicare Replacement/Advantage) plans even on an out of network basis.

  • No. Missouri has Direct Access.

Click here to learn more about it. We will need to send your physical therapy plan of care to a qualified healthcare provider (physician, midwife, nurse practitioner, or chiropractor) to obtain a signature within 30 days of your evaluation. Please have the name of a provider to whom we can send your plan of care.
