Frequently Asked Questions
-
Absolutely! Men have pelvic floors, too. These muscles can contribute to pain, bladder issues, bowel issues, and MORE. When those muscles aren’t working well, pelvic floor physical therapy can make a huge difference.
Our patients have frequently tried traditional physical therapy, chiropractic care, or other things with little to no improvement. Oftentimes, the pelvic floor is the missing piece.
-
We treat pelvic and abdominal pain, bladder urgency and leakage, bowel dysfunction, pain related to erection or ejaculation, and pelvic pain linked to diagnoses like chronic prostatitis, pudendal neuralgia, and interstitial cystitis.
-
Each patient gets a comprehensive evaluation where we talk about your symptoms, your goals, and then decide what we need to physically assess. We don’t care who has what body parts, no two people are treated the same.
We want to help you with whatever YOU need.
-
Yes, we do internal assessments with all of our patients (as long as you are comfortable, of course) when indicated.
An internal assessment for penis owners, occurs intra-rectally by placing a gloved, lubricated finger into the rectum. This allows us to assess the deeper pelvic floor muscle layers, giving us very useful information about your pelvic floor. This helps guide our treatment.
If that doesn't sound like something you want to do, no big deal! We still have plenty of tools in our toolbox to help you find relief. You can always change your mind later!

We understand how vulnerable pelvic floor therapy is and how nervous you may be. But trust us. We treat pelvic floor patients all day, every day.
We will do our best to make you comfortable, including answering any and all questions you may have and keeping you covered/draped the whole time.
